Tulips
give us lessons in dying
the beauty of sink, drop
fall, every day they move
closer to loss approaching
from another angle, testing
what's left of their light
always beautifully tulip.

ah yes, that makes me sad when I have to eventually admit that the tulips are in fact ready for the compost heap ! What a beautiful analogy !
Victoria, I never have thought of tulips like this before, even though I have always been impressed with their ability to restore themselves. Thanks for this perspective, especially about the gradual process towards the natural end. Beautiful bouquet of words.
